Here in the UK we are joined by countless others around the world in mourning the death of our much loved Queen.

She died at the age of 96 after 70 years of dedicated service to her country and the Commonwealth.

She was the UK’s longest reigning monarch and succeeded her father George VI to the throne at the very young age of 25 in 1952.

News of her death on Thursday 8th September 2022 at her beloved home Balmoral in Scotland shocked not only her people in the UK and Commonwealth but people all around the world.

On her 21st Birthday in 1947 she made the following pledge to her people.

“I declare before you all that my whole life whether it be long or short shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong”  This she truly did.

Queen Elizabeth II lived a meaningful life with Dignity, Grace, a Strong Sense of Service, and a Warm Heart, qualities we should all treasure.

On behalf of the Members of the International Spill Control Organisation I send our heartfelt condolences to His Majesty King Charles III and the Royal Family.

Neil Marson, Secretary-General, International Spill Control Organisation.
