US: NOAA Marine Debris Program Awards 13 New Projects for Funding

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Marine Debris Program has announced that 13 projects were awarded funding under the NOAA Marine Debris Removal and Interception Technologies grant awards for fiscal year 2025. These projects represent an investment of over $26.4 million for marine debris removal.

Marine debris is a widespread problem that harms wildlife, navigation safety, and the American economy. The projects awarded under these nationwide competitive funding opportunities will not only remove marine debris, but address some of its greatest impacts by targeting the largest and most damaging debris and preventing its re-accumulation in the environment.
