IOSC announces request for nominations for “Lifetime Achievement” and “In memoriam” programs

As an internationally recognized technical and policy forum dedicated to the response community, the International Oil Spill Conference (IOSC) invites submissions of nominations of community leaders for the upcoming conference in Savannah, Georgia, from May 17-20, 2027. The International Oil Spill Conference (IOSC) seeks to formally recognize and celebrate individuals whose careers have significantly advanced the field of oil spill prevention, preparedness, response, and restoration. Through the establishment of a Lifetime Achievement Awards program and a complementary online recognition platform, IOSC aims to honor those who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and long-term commitment to the global spill response community. Visit IOSC.org for guidance on the submission process.

In Memoriam

The IOSC Program Committee would also like to dedicate a special session during the conference to honor and remember valued members of our community who have passed away.If you would like to honor someone who has passed, please provide the submitter’s name and email, the person’s name, affiliation, month and year of passing, a few sentences describing their contribution to the response community, and a photograph (JPG or PDF) to [email protected].

Please ensure that you have obtained permission from the nominee or, in the case of an In Memoriam submission, the appropriate family member or representative before submitting photographs or personal information for inclusion on the IOSC website.
