CANADA: MULTI-PARTNER RESEARCH INITIATIVE (MPRI) WORKSHOP

Please join us for the 2021 Multi-partner Research Initiative (MPRI) Workshop, held jointly with the Industry Technical Advisory Committee (ITAC) Mini-forum, on November 2-4, 2021.

Hosted by Concordia University, this virtual event will highlight some of the latest in science, technology, and operational advances in oil spill preparedness and response from ITAC and MPRI members. The first day will feature the ITAC Mini-forum, with presentations by ITAC subject matter experts, as well as a discussion on MPRI-ITAC collaboration. This will be followed by the two-day MPRI Workshop featuring talks and panel discussions on MPRI-funded research progress, the significance and legacy of the MPRI, and next steps for oil spill response research and collaborations.

Additional information:  ITAC (Industry Technical Advisory Committee) is an industry-led group that addresses issues and advancements in international oil spill preparedness, response, and applied science and technology.  ITAC seeks to expand knowledge and exchanges within the industry and with response organizations, government regulators, and the academic, science, and technical community.

MPRI (Multi-partner Research Initiative) is an oil spill research program under Canada’s Oceans Protection Plan under the leadership of Fisheries and Oceans Canada.  To enhance Canada’s response “toolkit”, MPRI brings together the best scientific expertise in oil spill research, both nationally and internationally, to advance scientific knowledge to address major gaps in oil spill response and remediation strategies.
