Student presentation – Use of a 3-D Fate and Transport Model to estimate “Age-at-Sea”and PAH Depletion of Weathered Oil Slicks

Larissa Montas is a Ph.D. Candidate with the University of Miami’s Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering Department and a Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative’s (GOMRI) Scholar with the Beach Exposure And Child Health Study (BEACHES). Larissa is a University of Miami alumni with undergraduate degrees in civil and environmental engineering and a master’s degree in civil engineering (environmental focus). Her research focuses on oil spill chemical distributions in the marine nearshore environment, oil spill emissions and potential impacts to air quality. Larissa’s work is interdisciplinary and integrates geospatial technology, remote sensing and environmental public health.
