ISCO Council members are pleased to have taken the relationship with the University of Sussex forward by supporting their poster session for engineering and electronics students.
Nearly 100 students presented posters summarising their year’s work in advance of completion of their final dissertations. Rupert Bravery and Zäl Rustom from the ISCO council represented industry to offer guidance for the students, giving market relevance to their designs and development of the projects and assisting in the judging of the posters. A number of the projects presented would make invaluable contributions to improve the effectiveness of spill prevention detection and response. Three prizes were awarded by the Head of the Engineering School.
Rupert Bravery, ISCO Chairman commented “It is through the combined efforts of ISCO members in supporting events such as these that we will enhance our individual and collective reputations as companies that care about building a solid and much needed foundation for young people aspiring to enter our industry… ultimately, our long-term success depends on this.”
