On March 26, 2024, the containership Dali allided with the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland, resulting in the collapse of the bridge and the deaths of six construction workers. The event was triggered by the Dali’s loss of power and propulsion, thought to have been caused by a loose wire in the ship’s electrical system.
