MSC Baltic III update

After two months of salvage work following the grounding of the MSC Baltic III off Newfoundland when the vessel lost power during a storm in February,  about 1,600 metric tonnes of heavy fuel and marine gas oil remain on board however the ongoing bad weather and complex transfer operation using temporary frac tankage on the vessel is making the operation slow going.  Once the temporary tankage is full the fuel oil will be transferred via hose onto barges.   The good news is that the eight containers filled with nurdles have been removed as they are classified as hazardous material.
