Please join the EM OSR Knowledge Transfer Webinar series – Webinar 15 that will be held on April 4, 2023. Our guest speaker is Mr. Robert Limb who is the Chief Executive in ORSL, and he will share his vast experience with us.

After graduating in Chemical Engineering from the University of Exeter, Robert joined Dresser Atlas in Houston as a Logging Engineer in 1980. On completing his initial training he worked in the USA, Middle East and the North Sea. On moving into management Robert held various positions in operations, sales and senior management within the UK.

 

In 1990 he moved to Stavanger as Country Manager for Norway being responsible for Western Atlas’s operations in Scandinavia and Northern Russia. In 1994 he moved to Singapore as Vice President Asia/Pacific responsible for all operations in that region. Following the acquisition of Western Atlas by Baker Hughes in 1988 Robert moved back to Houston as Vice President of Global Operations responsible for the Worldwide Operations, Manufacturing and Marketing for Baker Atlas. In 2003 he was promoted to Vice President of Sales for Baker Hughes being responsible for the Company’s Sales and Marketing, Integrated Services and Corporate Communications.

 

In 2005, he left Baker Hughes and joined Vetco Aibel and following the sale of Vetco to GE in 2007 was promoted to President of Aibel Holding being responsible for the Company’s international operations. In 2009 Robert left Aibel and joined Total Safety Inc. as Senior Vice President International Operations.

 

After the successful sale of the Company to Warburg Pincus he left Total Safety and was appointed CEO of Oil Spill Response Limited in February 2013. During his tenure at OSRL he has been responsible for a number of post-Macondo/Montara industry initiatives including:

· The roll out and establishment of the Subsea Well Intervention Services (SWIS) providing Capping, Containment and Intervention for subsea incidents.

· The development of the first jet-based aerial dispersant system (Tersus) using Boeing 727’s.

· The establishment of the Global Dispersant Stockpile consisting of 5000m3 of dispersant in various location around the world.

· The establishment of the Global Oiled Wildlife Response Service (GOWRS)

 

Membership of OSRL comprises 40 Participant (shareholder members) and 135 Associate members these include Shipping, Governments, Coastguards and Oil and Gas producers and operators from across the whole value chain.

 

The ExxonMobil Oil Spill Response Knowledge Transfer Webinar series is a monthly webinar to allow highly experienced OSR experts to share their knowledge to attendees. The webinar series will provide a platform to communicate, transfer, and preserve OSR knowledge, and to share insights and perspectives from industry, academia, oil spill responders, and other oil spill response experts.

The webinar series started in August 2021 and continued every first Tuesday of the following months. We intend to continue the webinars indefinitely depending on response and our ability to schedule appropriate speakers.
